Costco is hiring an experienced Baker to join its bakery team in Brampton, ON. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy high-volume production baking and want to help deliver fresh bread and pastries to members every day.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will prepare, mix and bake large quantities of dough and batter according to Costco formulas and production procedures. You will operate industrial mixing and baking equipment, monitor ovens and ensure all products meet quality, consistency and food safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, measure and combine ingredients in large batches following Costco recipes and formulas.
- Use power equipment to mix and prepare bakery products, including dough rollers, muffin depositors and crust machines.
- Operate large power mixers to prepare batter, frosting and fillings for baked goods.
- Roll, cut and shape dough for breads and pastries; transfer products to proofing and baking racks.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake times and temperatures and move items to cooling racks at the correct time.
- Feed dough into automated dough machinery as required and adjust equipment for optimal results.
- Monitor sanitation, temperatures and pull dates to ensure products comply with health and safety regulations.
- Follow department procedures and standards for quality, consistency and presentation of finished bakery items.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service when interacting with members in the bakery.
- Assist with other bakery duties and support general warehouse operations as needed.
