Assistant Team Leader – Dollarama, Ottawa, ON

Dollarama is recruiting a hands-on and customer-focused Assistant Team Leader to join its store in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy supporting store operations, guiding associates on the sales floor and helping to deliver a smooth shopping experience in a busy retail environment.

ABOUT THE JOB

As an Assistant Team Leader at Dollarama, you will work closely with the management team to support day-to-day store activities. You will help coordinate workloads, assist with merchandising and stock handling, and provide guidance to associates during their shifts. Full-time and part-time roles are available based on store needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the management team in supervising store operations and supporting associates on shift.
  • Box and unbox daily shipments, organizing merchandise in the stockroom and on the sales floor.
  • Stock products on shelves in line with Dollarama’s presentation and planogram standards.
  • Deliver friendly, efficient customer service and help resolve basic issues or questions.
  • Contribute to store safety and cleanliness standards by monitoring aisles and common areas.
  • Support managers on duty by ensuring breaks are taken, time and attendance are recorded and priorities are clear.
  • Assist with cash-related tasks when required, including supporting opening and closing routines.
  • Participate in inventory counts, stock rotation and general backroom housekeeping.
  • Encourage teamwork, communication and a positive work atmosphere among store associates.
  • Apply Dollarama loss prevention practices and promptly report any irregularities to management.
