ABOUT THE JOB
As an Assistant Store Manager at Dollarama, you will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations. You will help ensure that company policies are clearly communicated and followed, that merchandise flows efficiently from the stockroom to the sales floor and that merchandising standards are consistently maintained. You may also act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required and play a key role in staffing, training and performance follow-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Store Manager in planning, organizing and supervising day-to-day store activities.
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, making timely decisions to keep the store running smoothly.
- Communicate Dollarama policies, procedures and merchandising expectations to associates and monitor adherence.
- Oversee receiving, processing and replenishing of merchandise so shelves remain full, clean and well presented.
- Maintain planograms, signage and promotional displays to provide an easy and attractive shopping environment.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training new store associates and support their ongoing development.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to team members to strengthen performance and teamwork.
- Participate in opening and closing routines, including cash handling, deposits and store security checks.
- Handle customer concerns in a professional, service-focused manner and provide practical solutions.
- Contribute to inventory counts, stock organization and loss prevention initiatives.
