Dollarama is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Store Manager to join its team in Vaughan, ON. This role is ideal for retail leaders who enjoy coordinating store operations, mentoring associates and ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience every visit.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Assistant Store Manager at Dollarama, you will work side by side with the Store Manager to oversee the daily running of the store. You will help make sure company policies are clearly understood and followed, that inventory is handled efficiently from receiving to the sales floor, and that merchandising standards are consistently maintained. You may also act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required and support recruitment and training activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Store Manager in planning, organizing and supervising day-to-day store operations.
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, providing direction and resolving issues on the sales floor.
- Communicate Dollarama policies, procedures and merchandising expectations to associates and monitor adherence.
- Oversee receiving, processing and replenishing of merchandise so shelves remain full, clean and well presented.
- Maintain planograms, signage and promotional displays to optimize the shopping experience.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training new team members, and support ongoing development.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to associates to build performance, engagement and teamwork.
- Participate in opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, deposits and store security checks.
- Address customer concerns in a professional, service-oriented manner and provide practical solutions.
- Contribute to inventory counts, stock organization and loss prevention initiatives.
