Dollarama is looking for an experienced and goal-driven Assistant Store Manager to join its team in Toronto, ON. This position is ideal for retail leaders who enjoy managing day-to-day operations, guiding associates and making sure customers enjoy a smooth and efficient shopping experience.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Assistant Store Manager at Dollarama, you will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations. You will help ensure that company policies are clearly communicated and followed, that merchandise is received and replenished on time, and that visual standards are kept at a high level. You will also act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required and play a key role in staffing, training and performance follow-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Store Manager in planning, organizing and supervising daily store activities.
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, taking decisions to keep the store running smoothly.
- Communicate Dollarama policies, procedures and merchandising expectations to associates and monitor adherence.
- Oversee receiving, processing and replenishing of merchandise so shelves are full, clean and well presented.
- Maintain planograms, signage and product displays to ensure an easy and attractive shopping environment.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding and training new team members and support ongoing development.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to associates to build performance, engagement and teamwork.
- Participate in opening and closing routines, including cash handling, deposits and store security checks.
- Respond to customer concerns in a professional, service-focused manner and provide practical solutions.
- Contribute to inventory counts, stock organization and loss prevention initiatives.
