Dollarama is looking for a motivated and organized Assistant Store Manager to join its team in Halifax, NS. This role is ideal for retail leaders who enjoy supervising teams, coordinating daily operations and helping deliver a consistent and positive shopping experience.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Assistant Store Manager at Dollarama, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing day-to-day store operations. You will help ensure that company policies are understood and followed by all team members, that inventory moves efficiently to the sales floor and that merchandising standards are maintained. You may also act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when required and participate in recruiting and training new employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Store Manager with planning, coordinating and monitoring daily store activities.
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned, ensuring smooth operation and quick problem resolution.
- Communicate and enforce Dollarama policies, procedures and merchandising guidelines with store staff.
- Oversee receiving, processing and replenishing of goods to maintain adequate stock levels on the sales floor.
- Ensure that product presentation, signage and planograms are followed according to company standards.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of new associates.
- Provide coaching, feedback and support to team members to help them achieve performance goals.
- Participate in opening and closing routines, including cash handling and security procedures.
- Resolve customer concerns in a professional, service-oriented manner.
- Promote a safe, clean and well-organized environment for both customers and employees.
