ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will help maintain cleanliness and general upkeep throughout the facility, including floors, restrooms, break areas, and production spaces. You’ll respond to spills, operate trash/cardboard compactors, restock cleaning supplies, and support basic grounds maintenance and routine checks. This role follows strict safety and security procedures and may involve using cleaning equipment such as scrubbers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check the daily schedule and complete routine cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Clean floors in offices, break rooms, restrooms, production areas, and other facility spaces.
- Use floor-cleaning equipment (such as scrubbers) to keep dust and debris to a minimum.
- Empty trash from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors.
- Respond quickly to spills and help maintain safe, slip-free walkways.
- Clean facility fixtures regularly and replace light bulbs when needed.
- Wash windows and wipe down walls and ceilings as required; vacuum overhead areas/rafters when assigned.
- Support grounds maintenance tasks such as litter pickup, blowing leaves, and routine checks (including seasonal snow/ice removal support where needed).
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies; receive and place items in the appropriate areas.
- Follow Optical Lab and general facility safety/security procedures and standards.
- Provide courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers when interacting on-site.
- Assist with documentation or internal tracking as required and support other areas as needed.
