Costco is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Clerk to support its warehouse in Brampton, ON. ABOUT THE JOB
As a Loss Prevention Clerk, you will monitor warehouse activity, conduct investigations, and help reduce shrink by identifying theft, fraud and operational risks. You will work closely with management and law enforcement when needed, ensuring Costco’s standards for safety, compliance and professionalism are upheld at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol the warehouse for up to 8 hours a day to monitor safety risks and suspicious activity.
- Observe, prevent and respond to potential theft incidents involving members, employees or visitors.
- Detain and interview suspected individuals when appropriate and according to established guidelines.
- Report dishonest behaviour to management and notify regional Loss Prevention leadership for direction.
- Document all internal theft situations and prepare reports for management review.
- Identify shrink trends and provide recommendations to improve processes and reduce losses.
- Prepare and submit reports for civil and criminal prosecution when necessary.
- Collect evidence, maintain detailed logs and provide testimony in court when required.
- Stay current with Costco procedures, security protocols and legal requirements related to investigations.
- Attend training sessions and seminars to strengthen knowledge of local loss prevention practices.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members on security awareness and loss prevention policies.
- Collaborate with other Costco Loss Prevention Clerks and share relevant information on emerging local threats.
