FreshCo is looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join its Chalo FreshCo pharmacy in Calgary, AB. This Part-Time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, supporting pharmacists, and helping deliver a safe and efficient community pharmacy experience.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at FreshCo, you will support the day-to-day pharmacy operations by processing prescriptions, assisting with customer service, maintaining accurate records, and helping to keep the dispensary organized. You will work closely with the Pharmacist and broader pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are prepared accurately and patients receive timely, courteous service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with prescription assembly and data entry in accordance with company policies and provincial regulations.
- Process new and refill prescriptions, including third-party billing and insurance adjudication as permitted by scope.
- Update and maintain patient profiles, prescription records, and other documentation with a high level of accuracy.
- Help manage inventory by receiving, unpacking, organizing, and rotating stock in the dispensary.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure pharmacy work area, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Provide courteous customer service at the pharmacy counter and over the phone, answering questions within scope and referring clinical matters to the Pharmacist when needed.
- Support cash register operations for pharmacy transactions, including handling payments and receipts.
- Assist the Pharmacist with other technical and administrative tasks as allowed by legislation and company standards.
