ABOUT THE JOB
As a Relief Pharmacist at Safeway, you will provide coverage across multiple Safeway pharmacies in the Vancouver area. You will step into different teams and dispensaries, ensuring that patients receive consistent, high-quality clinical care, accurate prescriptions and excellent customer service wherever you are scheduled.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work scheduled relief shifts across Vancouver and nearby communities, adapting quickly to each pharmacy’s workflow.
- Deliver patient-centred care including medication reviews, adherence support and health risk assessments.
- Administer injections and vaccinations as permitted by British Columbia regulations.
- Provide clear counseling and education to patients and caregivers on prescriptions, side effects and safe medication use.
- Verify, prepare and release prescriptions in accordance with provincial legislation and company policies.
- Initiate care plans, document clinical activities and follow up on patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants to manage workload and maintain safe, efficient operations.
- Support the implementation of pharmacy programs that help patients reach their health goals.
- Stay current on pharmacy practice standards, regulatory requirements and industry developments.
- Comply with all Safeway policies and procedures, including OHS, Loss Prevention and quality programs.
