ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Safeway, you will play a key role in delivering patient-centered care, medication counseling, prescription accuracy and clinical services. You will collaborate with pharmacy technicians, support staff and healthcare providers to ensure high-quality pharmacy operations and an excellent customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide patient counseling, medication reviews and clinical services including disease state management and adherence support.
- Ensure prescription accuracy, handle technical functions and supervise pharmacy assistants as required.
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism and excellent communication with patients and caregivers.
- Prepare, verify and release prescriptions following all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Initiate care plans, follow up on patient outcomes and maintain proper documentation.
- Participate in immunization programs and ensure compliance with Alberta guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support excellence in pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of industry trends, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and help improve patient health outcomes.
