Safeway is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join its Kensington Safeway Pharmacy in Burnaby, BC. If you are passionate about patient care, medication processing and supporting pharmacy operations, this Part-Time role could be an excellent opportunity.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Assistant at Safeway, you will assist the pharmacist team with prescription preparation, customer service, inventory management and daily pharmacy operations. You will help ensure that patients receive accurate, timely and professional service while supporting a safe and organized pharmacy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process customer transactions, prescription pickups and prescription release requests.
- Receive, organize and record incoming deliveries and telephone refill requests.
- Prepare prescriptions, counting tablets, labeling and assembling prescription orders.
- Maintain drug inventory, ordering supplies, restocking medications and keeping work areas clean.
- Support drug order creation, compounding and blister-pack assembly (as permitted by scope).
- Provide friendly, professional customer service at the pharmacy counter.
- Assist with front-store duties such as narcotic counts, returns, stock rotation and filing.
- Follow pharmacy regulations, protocols and Safeway standards at all times.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
