Registered Pharmacy Technician (Part-Time) – Sobeys, Windsor, NS

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will work within your full scope of practice under provincial regulations to prepare, process and complete prescriptions. You will collaborate closely with pharmacists, patients and other health-care providers while maintaining high standards of accuracy, documentation and patient confidentiality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within the authorized scope of a Registered Pharmacy Technician as defined by provincial regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare, process and compound prescriptions, including verifying technical accuracy before release to patients.
  • Receive and process prescription transfers to and from other pharmacies and jurisdictions.
  • Obtain, clarify and document prescription information from prescribers as required.
  • Ensure prescriptions are complete, accurate and compliant with applicable legislation.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and prescription records.
  • Support pharmacists with clinical services and patient care activities.
  • Assist with inventory control, ordering and handling of pharmacy stock.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Follow all company policies, professional standards and pharmacy regulations.
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties as required.
