Sobeys is hiring a Part-Time Seafood Clerk (Under 18) to join its store in Toronto, ON (Queensway location). This role is ideal for students or young workers who enjoy customer service, food preparation, and working in a fast-paced environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Seafood Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties in the seafood department in a professional, accurate and timely manner. You will deliver exceptional customer service, support merchandising programs, follow food safety procedures and contribute to a positive shopping experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety policies, corporate policies and other programs and initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service to meet customer needs and answer questions about seafood products.
- Keep work areas, counters and equipment clean, safe and presentable at all times.
- Process customer seafood orders and assist with product preparation as required.
- Perform program execution and merchandising of seafood products.
- Handle and prepare seafood items according to company standards.
- Increase department sales by actively promoting featured seafood products.
- Participate in the training of junior staff where required.
- Order and receive stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer while following company policies and procedures (where applicable).
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment as per Company requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
