ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Cutter at Costco, you will cut, trim, and prepare meat products for sale according to department procedures and quality standards. You’ll operate meat department equipment safely, maintain clean and organized work areas, and support daily production needs while ensuring products are properly handled, displayed, and stored.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cut, trim, and portion meat products according to department standards and specifications.
- Operate meat department equipment safely, such as slicers, saws, grinders, and tenderizers (as assigned).
- Prepare products for sale by packaging, labeling, and ensuring accurate pricing and presentation.
- Stock and rotate product in display cases to maintain freshness and visual standards.
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures, including temperature controls and proper handling practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift and at close.
- Complete required department logs and checks as directed (quality, sanitation, rotation, etc.).
- Assist with receiving and organizing department inventory, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and respond to basic product questions.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
