ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Cutter at Costco, you will cut, trim, and prepare raw meat products for sale using knives and meat-processing equipment. You’ll follow established specifications, keep the production area clean and food-safe, and help ensure the meat department stays stocked and ready for members throughout the day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cut, trim, and portion raw meat products according to Costco specifications and department procedures.
- Operate meat-processing equipment (such as meat slicers, grinders, and tenderizers) safely and correctly.
- Inspect product for quality, freshness, and proper handling throughout production.
- Maintain clean and sanitized tools, equipment, and work areas, including end-of-shift sanitation routines.
- Follow food safety standards, health codes, and temperature controls to ensure safe handling and storage.
- Load and move meat product using trays, racks, or carts while following safe lifting practices.
- Support wrapping, labeling, and stocking tasks as needed to keep cases full and organized.
- Keep accurate product flow by monitoring supply levels and preparing items based on daily production needs.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and answer basic product questions when required.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
