ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you will greet members as they enter the warehouse, verify membership cards, and help keep entrance/exit areas organized. You’ll support safety and security checks, assist with member counting, help monitor the warehouse and perimeter, and check receipts at exit while maintaining a professional and courteous approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome members entering the warehouse, make eye contact, and verify membership cards when required.
- Help keep entrance and exit areas clean, clear, and organized throughout the shift.
- Count members entering the warehouse using a handheld counter and report counts as required.
- Conduct routine safety and security checks, including monitoring exits and reporting hazards or blocked areas.
- Complete inspection forms and communicate findings to the appropriate supervisor/manager.
- Support warehouse safety meetings and follow all safety and security procedures.
- Monitor the warehouse and report suspicious activity or concerns to management.
- Observe and report armored vehicle transport activity and follow related procedures when applicable.
- Check member receipts at exit, compare items accurately, and thank members as they leave.
- Provide prompt and courteous assistance, directing members to departments and service locations.
- Assist with carts when needed and support member loading/shopping assistance as assigned.
- Perform perimeter/security checks (including after-hours checks where required) and communicate door/exit status appropriately.
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
